This is a general how to change out your air cabin filter, of course your car will differ. My corolla's air filter was very similar, located behind the glove box just like the TL.

pop out any clips you see, and push the sides of the glove box in to swing the entire box down.

unhook hinges if any

after swinging the glove down and out of the way, remove any screws or clips you see holding the panel in
(for the corolla, you have access to the filter after swinging the glove down, for the TL, there was still a panel that had to be removed. again, your car will differ)

the panel is held in by few clips, carefully pull the panel off. unhook wire harnesses connected to panel and you will have access to the filter

slide the filter out

dirty filter

old vs new
Overall very easy maintenance that anyone can do. Using NAMEL355's 1-10 scale, I give this a 1. Filter should be changed every year or so, depending on driving conditions of course.
